Description
8/17/26 - This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US Army in 1917. It is all correct with the proper "HP" Colt barrel. It has retained roughly 70% of its original high polish finish. The finish loss concentrated mostly on the grip straps and on the right side of the slide. There is noticeable finish loss along both sides of the slide, wear on the grip straps, general high edge wear, muzzle wear, and areas of noticeable spotty oxidation and minor pitting mostly on both sides of the slide. Fitted with period-correct wood grips and comes with a more modern commercial magazine (the number "17" is written in black marker on the bottom). The bore has good rifling with very light frosting throughout.
