Description
11/11/25 - This is a very nice example of a Colt Model 1911 issued to the US Army during WWI, in 1918. The gun is all correct and has a correct "H P" Colt barrel. It comes as a rig with a correct two-tone magazine and a minty tan leather 1944-dated holster. It also comes with a Colt factory letter that states this gun was shipped to a Commanding Officer at the Springfield Armory on April 10, 1918. The gun's original bluing rates about 93-94%. While there isn't much actual finish loss, there is very light brown patina throughout and some areas of light freckling. Fitted with very nice period-correct wood grips. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is some frosting and fouling in the grooves.
