Description
4/14/26- For sale is a 1918 dated BAR walking belt. During WWI, doctrine was developed that stated that soldiers should maintain constant automatic fire as they walked towards the enemy trenches and this belt was developed to facilitate that. The belt holds numerous BAR magazines and the cup on the hip is designed to hold the buttstock and manage recoil while shooting from the hip. The belt and pouches are intact with no fraying, discoloration, or tears. The pieces are all stamped by Long in 1918, with months of manufacture in April, June, and August 1918. All stitching is tight and intact and the hip cup will slot an appropriately sized buttstock. Overall in excellent condition.
