Description
10/2/26 - This is a Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army pistol, originally issued to the US military in 1918. It was later reworked at Rock Island Arsenal, as shown by the "FK" and "RIA" arsenal markings and military flaming bomb on the right side of the frame, and it wears an arsenal-applied parkerized finish. The left side of the frame carries the proper "Eagle Head S12" military acceptance proof. The barrel is a period-correct "H P" marked barrel. Fitted with replaced wood grips and comes with a magazine that is numbered on the base but not matching to the gun. There are areas of wear around the muzzle, minor high edge wear, some small marks and scratches here and there, and noticeable finish loss on the mainspring housing. The bore has pretty good rifling with noticeable pin-pricking in the grooves. A solid WWI-era Colt with honest arsenal history.
