SOLD - 1927 Czech CZ Model 24 Rig, Unit Marked - WW2 Capture w/ Provenance

9/15/26 - This is a Czech CZ Model 24 that was originally issued to the Czech military in 1927. The gun is all matching and has the proper Czech lion proofs. Dated 1927 on the slide and frame with a military unit marking on the front strap, "2D 311". This particular gun was captured by one Donald Jay Daily, who was drafted during WW2 out of Columbus, Ohio and served as a heavy construction specialist in Company B of the 351st Engineer General Service Regiment. He engaged in three major European campaigns, including Northern France, Rhineland, and the Battle of the Bulge. This rig has a clear chain of custody and comes to us from the most recent custodian/family representative. Included with the rig is a signed letter from the custodian, detailing the chain of custody, much of the history of Donald's life and service, and how he came to acquire the gun. It also comes with the original WW2 capture document that names Daily (the exact make, model, and serial number of the gun are not mentioned). The gun includes a US canvas belt, US med kit, leather lanyard, one proper magazine, and a 1942-dated and waffen-proofed tan leather holster. Daily's name is written on the inside of the med kit pouch and on the inside of the holster. The gun itself has retained roughly 70% of its original bluing with honest finish loss throughout. Fitted with a correct one-piece wood grip - minor bruising and scratching. Very nice bore with good rifling.
