Description
1/15/26 - The Gustav Genschow & Co. (GECO) Sportbüchse Model 33 is a German bolt-action rimfire rifle introduced around 1933, chambered in .22 LR and intended for sporting use, target shooting, and marksmanship training. It exemplifies the high manufacturing standards of early-1930s German sporting arms. Production was very limited, confined to a short period before GECO transitioned to later models such as the Model 34, making the Model 33 relatively scarce today and desirable among collectors of pre-World War II German rimfire rifles. The only numbered parts are the receiver and front barrel band (which is mismatched). The gun has the proper "Crown B" and "Crown U" proofs, and the receiver has the GECO logo. The metal parts have retained about 92-93% of their finish with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, some very light brown patina on most of the parts, and a few small marks on the barrel. The wood stock shows normal bruising and scratching but shows no major damage. Comes with a period-correct leather sling and cleaning rod. Mint bore.
