Description
10/3/25 - This is an interesting example of a professionally restored 1936 Luger. The chamber is dated 1936, there is a Mauser banner logo on the toggle, and there are no military acceptance proofs on the right side of the slide. These are the proper characteristics of an extremely rare 1936 commercial Mauser banner Luger - only about 100 made in the "v" serial block. However, this gun is not in the correct serial range for this variation. In addition, there is a very faint military acceptance proof on the right side of the barrel. So we believe this gun is, in fact, an original military-issued 1936 Luger made to look like the very rare commercial variant. Therefore, the toggle was ground, and the Mauser banner was added later. Similarly, even though the work is very high quality and leaves no discernable "witness marks", we believe the right side of the slide was ground down and the military proofs removed. "Germany" export marking on the left side of the frame. The gun has been completely professionally restored, and the work is beautiful. No notable signs of wear. Fitted with minty replacement wood grips and comes with a mismatched and scarce "Eagle 154" magazine. The rifling in the bore is fairly worn with pitting throughout.
