1938 Mauser Oberndorf K98 Rifle - Luftwaffe Contract

1/22/26 - This is a nice example of a "42" Code K98 rifle manufactured at the Mauser Oberndorf factory in 1938 and issued to the Nazi military. All numbered parts are matching, down to the screws. The stock is also matching-numbered and waffen-proofed on the underside and right side of the butt stock. There is a clear "Eagle L" stamp, indicating this one was issued to the Luftwaffe. All the markings on the underside of the butt stock are very faint but present. The metal parts have retained roughly 85% of their original finish. There is honest wear and some light brown patina, concentrated mostly around the high edges, around the muzzle, and on the floor plate/trigger assembly. The wood furniture shows the typical signs of wear and use with no major damage. Comes with a period-correct cleaning rod. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is some minor pitting in the grooves.
