1939 Mauser Luger - Matching Magazine

7/31/26 - This is an original Mauser Luger manufactured for the German military in 1939. The chamber is stamped with the 1939 date, and the toggle link bears the proper "42" Mauser factory code. The right side of the receiver displays faded Eagle/655 German military acceptance proofs. Crucially, the pistol is completely matching inside and out (aside from unnumbered grips), and includes a correct, matching-numbered aluminum base magazine that remains in excellent condition. The pistol retains approximately 75-80% of its original factory bluing, showcasing an honest, combat-carried appearance. Finish loss is most prevalent as significant thinning across both the front and rear grip straps, extending down to the stock lug, with a tiny, superficial hairline surface crack near the bottom of the front strap that does not penetrate the metal. There is operational wear accompanied by light freckling and minor pitting on the sideplate and along both frame rails. Additional finish loss is visible on the rear toggle ears, the left side of the barrel, and around both sides of the muzzle profile. The period-correct, unnumbered checkered walnut grips are well-fitted and are in very good shape, but do show smoothing near the grip screws and typical scattered handling wear. The mechanical action remains smooth and functions correctly. Bore is shiny with sharp rifling, but there is some mild fouling in the grooves.
