Description
7/13/23 - This is an original Army Mauser Luger rig from 1939 that comes to us directly from the son of the veteran who captured it. The pistol has all matching numbers with 85-90% of the original blue remaining. Some finish loss on the sideplate, muzzle, right side rail and bottom of the straps. Also some pinpricking and oxidation on the sideplate, rail, and back strap. Shiny bore with minor frost. All numbered parts match, but grips and firing pin are unnumbered. Grips are in good condition aside from the common chip under the safety. Listing includes a total of two magazines, both period original but mismatched. Comes with a pebble grain P.38 holster that has the last name of the vet that captured it written inside. The listing is accompanied by some basic documents tied to Gust Balakas, and comes to us from his son. Balakas served in Basic Tng Infantry and as a hoist operator, and the listing includes photocopies of his discharge paperwork, death certificate and obituary.Specifications
