5/2/19 - This is a nice, all matching and original Nazi Mauser Luger from 1939. All numbered parts match, including the grips and magazine. The magazine numbering is not factory original though, likely renumbered after the war. Excellent grips with sharp checkering. Bore is strong and shiny with only minor frost. The finish is odd in that the barrel and most of the frame is a nice blue, but the receiver has turned a thinner, brown patina. I have seen this before and conclude that it is not from wear but most likely the bluing was first done at the factory was not consistent or perhaps metal not prepared properly. Thus, over time, some of the finish held up well while the receiver aged more quickly due to the inferior "mix" or prep work.
