Description
7/8/26 - This is a very nice example of a Mauser Luger issued to the Nazi military in 1939. All matching with the proper "Eagle 63" military acceptance proofs. This example has an S/42 stamped toggle, but the pistol is not in the proper serial range for this variation. There are no signs of renumbering or rebluing on this pistol, but the toggle and receiver feature different test proofs. So we cannot say for certain whether this gun was assembled out of sequence, or if a previous owner was simply able to find a matching toggle train to replace on the pistol. It has retained roughly 85% of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the grip straps, but there is also minor general high edge and muzzle wear. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered wood grips and comes with a period-correct but mismatched "Eagle 63" magazine. Mint bore.
