Description
11/3/26 - This is a 1939 transitional German SA dagger manufactured by Klittermann & Moog GmbH of Haan bei Solingen, complete with its brown painted scabbard and RZM-marked leather hanger. The blade bears the etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto on one side and the manufacturer's circular trademark alongside the RZM M7/29-1939 marking on the reverse. The blade retains visible factory cross-graining throughout, although there is evidence of light polishing, along with scattered light surface oxidation (some darker and spotty, some lighter and cloudy) across both sides, particularly along the edges and toward the tip. Blade etchings are crisp and clearly legible. The plated crossguards show fine surface scratches and scattered oxidation, most noticeably across the outward facing surface of the upper guard. The reddish-brown wooden grip is excellent, with minor handling scratches and small impressions, while the SA roundel and eagle insignia are well preserved. No chips or cracks. The brown painted scabbard retains most of its glossy finish, showing scattered fine scratches and handling marks, particularly toward the lower fitting. The plated scabbard fittings exhibit light abrasions and a couple spots of speckling, while the lower ball remains perfectly rounded. The accompanying leather hanger has some light cracking but is in great shape overall, with an RZM M5/71-marked metal clip and an RZM L2/5/38-marked leather loop. The blade, crossguards, and grip all fit extremely well, as does the scabbard.
