12/29/25 - This is a nice example of a "337 Code" Gustloff Werke K98 rifle issued to the German military in 1940. Most of the gun is matching, but the leaf spring and stock are mismatched (numbered on the inside). It has the proper German military acceptance proofs throughout. The right side of the butt stock is Eagle H and Waffen proofed. The metal parts have retained a little less than half of their finish, and some of the parts appear to have been sanded blasted, including the bayo lug, barrel bands, floor plate, and trigger group assembly. Overall, the stock is in excellent condition, but there is what looks like a professional wood repair on the underside of the butt of the stock. The bore has good rifling, but there is some light spotty oxidation in the grooves.
