Description
3/16/22 - This is a rare Spanish Llama Model 1 that was imported by Geco into Germany in 1943. Whittington's book on German pistol estimates only about 1,000 were sold in Germany! What makes this pistol particularly interesting is the "Geco" trademark stamped on the right side of the frame. This indicates that the pistol was marketed in Germany by Gustav Genschow & Co., Hamburg. Like most commercial pistols available in Germany during the war, this pistol would have been sold to a member of the German armed forces or one of the few "approved" German civilians or Nazi Party members. The GC proof on the right side indicates it was originally made for the Spanish Civil Guard, or 'Guardia Civil'. This one is all matching and has retained about 85% of its original finish. Most of the wear is on the grip straps where there are also tiny spots of oxidation. The rest of the wear is mainly concentrated on the high edges of the slide. There is a small area of spotty wear on the right side of the slide. Comes with nice period-correct wood grips and one proper magazine. The bore is excellent with strong rifling.Specifications
