Description
10/20/26 - This is a 1941 Mauser "byf" Luger issued to the Nazi military. In 1941 Mauser replaced its earlier "S/42" and "42" toggle codes with the "byf" code, and it continued building P.08s like this one for the German military into 1942 before production shifted over to the P.38. It is all matching with the proper "Eagle 655" military acceptance proofs, and it is fitted with minty, matching-numbered and "Eagle 655" proofed wood grips. It comes as a rig with two original period-correct "Black Widow" magazines and a very nice 1942-dated black leather holster. The original finish rates about 94%, with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, some spotty discoloration and pinpricking on the barrel, and a small spot of wear on the front strap. Excellent bore with strong rifling, 9/10.
