Description
2/18/26 - This is an excellent example of a Mauser P.08 Luger Rig that comes with a 1940 G. Passier & Sohn holster, rare takedown tool and two number-matching magazines. The firearm itself is all-matching numbered parts. Manufactured in 1940, this Mauser has retained about 94% of its original finish with most wear existing as high edge and muzzle wear. There are also spots of finish loss on top of the left toggle knob and on the left side of the barrel towards the muzzle. This Luger comes with period-correct wood grip panels that bear the correct "Eagle 135" stamp but are unnumbered. In Don Hallock's The Mauser Parabellum 1930-1946: Analysis of a Million Luger Pistols, he states that years of observation seem to indicate that Mauser did not number the grips on every 1940 military Luger pistol prior to leaving the factory, and this set does fit perfectly. The bore is bright with good rifling, but does show some signs of frosting and some wear from use. This P.08 comes with two original, matching magazines that have the "Eagle 37" inspection stamp and the "122" factory code. The tool within this rig is a rare "W/154" which were produced in 1935 for the most part. The black leather holster in this rig was manufactured in 1940 by G. Passier & Sohn, who are more commonly known for their leather work in saddles and equestrian accessories, which shows the manufacturing changes that were made to support the military during the war. The holster is in excellent condition aside from a couple of loose stitches in the top flap. The back of the holster has a "WaA750" inspection stamp.
