SOLD - 1943 Colt 1911A1 in Craft Box

5/4/18 - This is an original Colt model 1911a1 made in 1943. The pistol comes with an original craft box and a post war sales receipt. The receipt is definitely old, maybe from the 1960s and the price at the time for a 1911a1 was $32.95. The name on the receipt is Randall Davenport, a US Marine Corps. veteran. He served in Korea at the end of the Korean war (1953). Randall served in the USMC from April 1951 to July of 1957. We were able to do some research on Sgt. Davenport and found a photo of him, which we recently added to the listing. This new information helps to bring the history of this 1911 to life.  The pistol is all original and correct with about 97% of the original parkerizing in tact. The bore is very nice but has some minor browning / patina within the grooves. We rate at an 8/10. The grips are excellent. All markings are crisp. Guaranteed original.
