Description
5/22/26 - This is a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. The slide is numbered and matching. It has a Colt .45 Auto barrel that appears to be a commercial barrel that was reworked for military use. It has the proper cross canon military cartouche on the right side of the frame. The "United States Property" marking has been scrubbed. The gun has retained roughly 80-85% of its parkerized finish. There is general high edge / muzzle wear, spotty wear on the front strap, and obvious spotty oxidation and pitting on much of the left side of the gun. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips and comes with an "L" marked magazine. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is pin-pricking throughout and noticeable fouling in the grooves.
