SOLD - 1943 K98 Bayonet - Matching Scabbard with Frog

10/23/24 - This is an original K98 Bayonet with matching scabbard and frog. This bayonets serial number may have been added later or could have been an arsenal rework. The serial's stamping is crisp and looks similar to the markings on the top side of the blade. Other than this, the blades in excellent condition with some mild scabbard wear and no signs of sharpening. The blade is maker marked bym on one side with the serial on the other. The top edge of the blade is marked with a waffen proof stamp and "43" for 1943. The same waffen stamp is found twice on the top of the pommel. The hand guard, grip and pommel are all in excellent shape. A very nice scabbard with only minor wear. The frog has some wrinkling and is marked but very lightly stamped. All that is legible is RB-M.0/0.... The strap on the frog is intact but in poor condition. The scabbard fits the blade nicely.
