Description
10/19/26 - This is a nice example of an AC 43 Walther P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1943. Walther (code "ac") designed the P.38, which the German army adopted in 1938 to replace the Luger as its standard service pistol, and remained its principal maker throughout the war. The gun is all matching and wears the proper "Eagle 359" military acceptance proofs. About 85% of the original finish remains, with general high edge wear, muzzle wear, noticeable thinning on the front strap, some spotty wear and minor pitting on the left side of the barrel, an area of scratchy wear on the right side of the barrel, and one small dot of discoloration on the right side of the slide. It wears period-correct reddish phenolic grips and is accompanied by an "Eagle 135" marked Mauser magazine. Very nice bore with great rifling. De-cocker is functional. A solid, honest wartime Walther P.38 with all matching numbers.
