6/5/25 - This listing is for a rare and exceptionally well-preserved WWII-era ALDIS Gunsighting Telescope, Pattern G.344, complete with its original wooden storage case, metal lens caps, and clear optics. This is the illuminated version of the Aldis telescope, manufactured in 1944 and marked with “APG344**,” “Inner o 100 KNOTs,” “Outer o 200 KNOTs,” “msc 1944,” “SER NO CAN 304,” and “Eye End,” all in elegant gold lettering. The telescope retains a beautiful black finish and features excellent glass with a clear and functional reticle. Both the internal and external components are in remarkable condition, suggesting minimal use and careful storage. The accompanying wooden case is also in excellent shape, featuring a clean interior with custom-fitted wooden supports topped with green felt to secure the instrument. The top of the case is boldly marked “ALDIS GUNSIGHTING TELESCOPE ILLUMINATED, PATTERN G.344,” and the bottom is marked “204.” The case is complete with original brass-colored latches and hinges, adding to its authenticity and collector appeal.
