Description
1/21/26 - This is a nice example of a "dot 44" Code K98 Kriegsmodell rifle manufactured by Waffenwerke Brunn in 1944 and issued to the Nazi military. All numbered parts are matching. Characteristic of these late-war Kriegsmodell rifles, the barrel bands are screwed-in, and it has no provision for a cleaning rod. The stock shows no external numbering, but there is what appears to be a very faint army "Eagle H" stamp on the right side of the butt stock. The metal parts have retained roughly 85% of their original finish. The majority of the actual finish loss is on the floor plate / trigger assembly. There is also general high edge and muzzle wear. Some brown patina, mainly on the floor plate / trigger assembly and on the front barrel band. Really nice plum-colored finish on the extractor. Very nice late-war wood furniture with minimal wear. Minty bore. Comes with a period-correct leather sling.
