Description
4/11/22 - This is a very nice example of a Remington Rand Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in late 1944. It is "United States Property"-marked, has the proper "FJA" inspection initials, and has a cross-canon military cartouche on the right side of the frame. "Colt .45 Auto" barrel with a "G" under the lug. The slide and frame are mismatched. The slide is a second variation example, too early for this third variation frame. Interestingly, the second variation is actually much rarer than its third-variation counterpart. The gun comes as a rig with a nice leather shoulder holster, one WW2-era magazine, and one post-war magazine. The gun has retained about 91-93% of its original finish. Generally, there is wear on the front strap and very minor wear around the high edges and around the muzzle. There is some spotty wear on the rear grip safety and a few small spots of wear on the top of the slide. The finish on the slide is a little thin, and there are some tiny dots of oxidation here and there. Comes with excellent period-correct plastic grips. There is tiny pitting in the grooves of the bore.Specifications
