Description

7/22/22 - This is a very nice example of a Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in August of 1943. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 88" military acceptance proofs throughout. There is an asterisk marking on the right side of the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair - desirable for some collectors. It has retained about 85% of its original finish. The majority of the bluing loss is honest wear on the front strap - profile views are excellent. There are just hints of wear on the front edges of the slide and around the muzzle. A couple of linear casting flaws that run along the left side of the slide. Comes with minty Spreewerk grips and a period-correct jvd magazine. Excellent bore with great rifling. De-cocker is functional.
