Description
7/26/22 - This is a very nice example of a S&W Model 1917 revolver issued to the US military during WW1. It is all matching, "United States Property" marked, and has the proper flaming bomb and "Eagle Head S21" military acceptance proofs. It has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its beautiful high polish finish. The majority of the finish loss is somewhat scratchy wear along the right side of the barrel where there is also some minor pitting. Light wear on both grip straps, a few small dots of discoloration on the right side of the frame, some areas of minor pin-pricking on the cylinder, and a light roll mark on the cylinder. Comes with very nice wood grips - a few small dings on the bottom edges. The bore has good rifling with very minor pin-pricking throughout. The cylinder is tight, and the action is very smooth.Specifications
