Description
9/7/22 - This is an all original, matching and correct WWI example of Webley semi-auto pistol in .455 caliber. It is one of the Royal Navy contract guns, marked with an "N" for Navy on the left side of the slide. It's a fairly rare piece, one of only 8,000 produced. The pistol is also 1914 dated (date of manufacture). Profusely proofed, including the Vickers proof on top of the slide and on the right side of the slide. It remains in worn overall condition, with most of its original military finish worn off. The rating of about 60% comes from the lack of significant rust or pitting, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. The original wood grips are in tact with no major cracks or chips. The bore has nice rifling but there's some rust / wear throughout. This one comes as a rig with a very rare 1912-dated holster, one original un-opened pack of ammo (dated January 30th, 1919), and a copy of the book "Webley & Scott Automatic Pistols" by Gordon Bruce.Specifications
