Description

9/23/22 - This is a very nice example of a dual-tone "BYF 44" Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It is all matching and has the proper "Waffen 135" military acceptance proofs. The barrel is blued and the frame and slide are phosphate, giving it its iconic dual-tone appearance. These finishes are a little difficult to rate, but we estimate that it has retained around 90%. There is thinning on the front strap and minor wear around the high edges in general and around the muzzle. Some spotty discoloration on the phosphate parts (typical). Comes with excellent reddish bakelite grips and a period-correct "jvd" magazine. Minty bore. De-cocker is functional.
