Description
12/22/22 - This is a nice example of a Remington Model 1917 Rifle issued to the US military in 1918. The barrel is "R" marked and dated July of 1918. It has the proper flaming bomb and "Eagle Head" military acceptance proofs throughout. Some of the small parts are marked "E". There is a "3GM-K" marking on the left side of the stock. The exact meaning of this stamp is a mystery in the collector community but most believe it is most likely an arsenal rebuild stamp in association with General Motors. They are most often seen on guns reworked for issue during WW2. It has retained roughly 85% of its finish with areas of thinning on the left side of the receiver and on the floor plate / trigger group. There is some minor discoloration in the finish here and there. The stock is nice with no major damage and only minor dings and scratches here and there. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with oxidation throughout.Specifications
