Description
3/1/23 - This is a rare 1908 First Issue DWM military Luger in excellent condition. There were only 25,000 1st issue examples produced, and roughly 6,000 were unit marked. This one is unit marked on the front strap "2/R.R.12.19." and has a "19" on the back of the frame. The first issue Lugers were the first military produced Lugers in 9mm, as this was one of the most requested changes in response to the earlier 1902 and 1906 models. The pistol is all matching and Imperial proofed. The gun correctly has no stock lug and originally had no hold-open but one was added later. There is a "1920" government property marking on the chamber. The gun has retained about ~97% of its bluing with just very minor wear around the muzzle and on the front edges of the side rails. Hints of wear on some of the high edges and some very minor pin-pricking on the grip straps. Fitted with very nice wood grips that are both numbered "898". Comes with a blank-bottom magazine. The bore has good rifling with minor frosting throughout.Specifications
