Description
2/2/23 - This is a nice example of an Erfurt Luger issued to the Imperial German military in 1916. It is all matching and has the proper Imperial German military acceptance proofs. There is a "Valencunnes 1918" inscription on the left side of the frame. While the exact meaning of this marking is unknown, our best guess is that this was done to commemorate a battle. The gun has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is along the left side of the barrel, but there are areas of spotty wear around the muzzle, on the side plate, on the side rails, on the underside of the frame, and on the grip straps. Some very minor pin-pricking on the grip straps as well. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered wood grips. Comes with a period-correct but mismatched magazine - tiny crack in the base. The rifling in the bore is just slightly worn with minor frosting throughout.Specifications
