4/6/23 - This is a very nice example of a Swiss Schmidt Rubin Model 1896/1911 straight-pull rifle. These are extremely interesting as these are very early rifles converted from the 1896 config to the later 1911 configuration by adding the pistol grip to the stock and re-barreling to the modern and proven 7.5x55 Swiss caliber. This one is all matching and has a "P" marking under the serial number on the receiver, indicating it was privately purchased. It has retained about 85-90% of its finish with minor thinning on most of the parts and some light freckling on the receiver. No major damage to the wood, but there are dings and scratches throughout. Mint bore.
