Description

4/19/23 - This is a BYF 44 Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. All matching with the proper "Waffen 135" military acceptance proofs throughout. It comes as a rig with a 1944-dated holster, one period-correct Walther magazine, and one post-war magazine. The holster is missing some stitching on the top flap. The gun itself has retained roughly 80% of its finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, where there is heavy spotty oxidation. There are also some areas of splotchy discoloration around the front edges of the slide and along the left side of the barrel. Fitted with nice period-correct blackish-brown bakelite grips. The bore has good rifling with minor frosting throughout. De-cocker is functional. The internals are covered in heavy grease - could use a good cleaning.
