Description

7/6/23 - This is a Yugoslavian Zastava M98/48 Bolt Action Rifle in 8mm Mauser (7.92x57mm). These rifles were refurbished in the 1950's from leftover WW2 German K98 parts. This example is mismatched, but has the proper Yugo crest on the receiver. Nazi military proofs on the rear sight. No import mark. The metal parts have retained most of their bluing with just some small scratches and handling marks here and there. The wood furniture shows no major signs of damage, but there is a series of circular bruises on the left side of the butt stock. Also in that area, the stock was renumbered several times and now matches the receiver. The bore has good rifling, but there is some frosting in the grooves.
