Description
7/18/23 - This is a nice example of a British Martini-Henry Mk II Cavalry Carbine, dated 1899 and chambered in .303 British. British military proofs throughout with "opposing broad arrow" markings on the barrel and receiver. The Martini-Enfield was in service from 1895-1918 (Lawrence of Arabia's Arab Irregulars were known to have used them during the Arab Revolt of 1916-1918, along with any other firearms they could acquire), and it remained a Reserve Arm in places like India and New Zealand until well into World War II. This one has retained roughly 85% of its finish with general high edge wear and some scratches and dings on the receiver. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there is brown patina covering most of the metal parts. The wood furniture shows obvious scratches, bruises, and dings throughout. The bore has good rifling with minor pin-pricking throughout.Specifications
