Description
6/13/23 - This is an excellent example of a Springfield Model 1903 issued to the US military during WW1. The receiver dates to 1918. The barrel is also Springfield marked and dates to November of 1918. The wood stock is un-marked and was either sanded or replaced. The left side of the receiver has been tapped with 3 screw holes to receive an original Warner Swasey scope. The metal parts have retained about 95% of their parkerized finish with some thinning on the floor plate / trigger group and some dark discoloration on the receiver. Some spotty oxidation on the butt plate. Excellent wood stock. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with some minor pitting here and there. Comes with a nice leather sling.Specifications
