Description

8/17/23 - This is an excellent example of a Springfield Krag Model 1898 rifle made in 1899. There is a "US" property marking on the receiver and a "P" proof on the stock. No visible cartouche. The metal parts have retained roughly 80% of their original finish with areas of finish loss on the rear barrel band, on the sides of the receiver, and on the butt plate. There is an area of noticeable pin-pricking on the left side of the receiver as well. The wood stock is in minty condition, but there is a tiny hairline crack just behind the receiver. Mint bore.
