7/28/23 - This is a nice example of an extremely rare DWM Artillery Luger issued to the Imperial German military in 1914. Estimated production that year of only about 750-1500. All matching. We can't explain this, but unfortunately someone ground off the original Imperial military acceptance proofs on the right side of the slide. It has retained roughly 85% of its original finish. There is obvious finish loss where the proofs were ground, but the majority of the finish loss is along the barrel. There is also spotty oxidation along the barrel and some minor pitting along the right side of the barrel. Noticeable freckling on the grip straps. Fitted with excellent matching-numbered grips. Comes with a mismatched magazine. The bore has good rifling, but there is very minor freckling throughout.
