Description
9/8/23 - This is a nice example of a Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military during WW2. The serial number on the receiver dates it to about April of 1943. Springfield barrel dated January of 1951. Un-marked replacement stock. The metal parts have retained roughly 85% of their finish. There is thinning along the gas tube and noticeable spotty oxidation along the barrel. Some pitting on the very front edge of the receiver. The wood furniture shows obvious signs of wear throughout, and there are two hairline cracks on the right side of the butt stock. A gouge in the wood just behind the receiver. The bore has great rifling with some minor spotty oxidation here and there. Muzzle reading: 3. Throat reading: 1. Comes with a green canvas sling.Specifications
