Description

10/9/23 - This is a Dreyse Model 1907 pistol, produced between 1907-1915 and issued to the Imperial German Army during WW1. The M1907 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by Louis Schmeisser. The gun was named after Nikolaus von Dreyse, the designer of the Dreyse Needle Gun. The pistol had an interesting feature for the time: when the gun was ready to fire, the firing pin projected through the back of the breech block, serving as an early handgun-cocking indicator. This example is all matching and has the proper "Crown N" commercial proofs. It also has an Imperial German military acceptance proof on the right side. The gun has been beautifully restored with high quality Nickle plating, likely for a GI to bring back. The bore is shiny, but the rifling is slightly worn and there is some frost throughout. Fitted with an excellent set of black plastic grips. The gun comes with one period correct magazine which was also Nickle-finished to match the gun.
