Description

1/30/24 - This is an early Austrian Steyr Pieper model 1908 pistol in all original configuration. It is '10 dated, and production only started in 1909 but continued through until 1929.  These pistols are an unusual blowback type with tip-down barrel.  The barrel is retained with a pivoting bolt and is held by a thumb latch barrel-locking mechanism.  Manufacture started in 1909 and was suspended in 1911, then resumed in 1919 and wrapped up in 1929.  The finish rates about 98% with minor muzzle wear, minor high edge wear, and a light scratch on the left side. Excellent fire-blue on the small parts. Comes with two magazines. The bore has pretty good rifling, but there is some fouling in the grooves.
