SOLD - Stunning, Interesting DWM American Eagle Model 1900 Luger - Army Test?

3/26/24 - This is an absolutely stunning example of a DWM "American Eagle" Model 1900 Luger, chambered in .30 Luger. All matching with the proper American Eagle seal on the chamber. The gun is in beautiful, like-new condition with no signs of wear or use. Excellent straw-colored finish on the small parts. Fitted with beautiful matching-numbered wood grips. Like-new bore. What makes this gun interesting is, while it is not in the accepted serial number range for the original army test Lugers, it has some of the test Luger characteristics - the takedown lever and mag release button are externally numbered, and there are tiny military flaming bomb proofs on the inside of the frame and on the base of the magazine. Both markings appear to be original. Of course, given the serial number discrepancy, we cannot say for sure. NOTE: James Julia sold this pistol in 2008 with the upper described as "a factory quality restored finish that could pass as original". We believe the finish is original but happy to provide additional photos upon request. The American Eagle has been filled with gold leaf, likely post-factory.
