2/2/24 - This is a very nice example of a pre-Pearl Harbor Springfield M1 Garand issued to the US military in July of 1941. The serial number on the receiver dates to July of 1941, and the barrel is dated 7-41. All of the metal parts are correct for a 1941 Garand, but it has been re-stocked. The finish on the metal parts rates about 98% with very minor high edge wear and some very light freckling on the receiver. No major damage to the wood, but it shows obvious signs of wear. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn with pin-pricking throughout. Muzzle reading: 4. Throat reading: 3.
