Description

8/23/24 - This is a very nice example of a Red 9 Mauser C96 issued to the Imperial German military during WW1. It is all matching and has the proper proofs. Unit marking on the front strap. We believe this one was reworked and issued to the Nazi police force, given its characteristics - the barrel has been shortened and the rear sight was milled. It comes as a rig with a fairly fragile but period-correct leather holster (unit marking on the top flap). The gun has retained about 90% of its finish. The majority of the wear is on the floor plate, but there is also high edge wear, some wear on the underside of the barrel, and some areas of light freckling here and there. Fitted with original matching-numbered "Red 9" grips. Excellent, shiny bore.
