SOLD - Rare Swiss DWM Luger Luger - Abercrombie & Fitch

5/30/24 - This is a very rare example of a Swiss 1906/20 DWM Luger that was exported to Abercrombie & Fitch in New York. Chiefly manufactured in Germany, a small number of Luger pistols are known to have been routed through Switzerland, where they could be fitted with barrels that exceeded the lengths permitted by the Treaty of Versailles prior to further export to Abercrombie & Fitch Co. of New York, then the largest outfitting and sporting goods firm in the country. The barrels were manufactured by Hammerli, who marked the barrels "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH Co NEW YORK/MADE IN SWITZERLAND" on top. Swiss "Cross in starburst" on the chamber, and a "DWM" toggle. Serializing on the barrel is also uniquely perpendicular to the frame. This one is gorgeous with essentially no signs of wear. It comes as a rig with a rare "Abercrombie & Fitch" marked leather holster and one Swiss magazine. Mint bore.
