Description

5/30/24 - This is a rare BSW Model 625C bolt action training rifle manufactured in the late 1930s by BSW, formally known as Simson. Barrel is marked "FLUSS-STAHL KRUPP-ESSEN". Caliber marked on the left side of the barrel with serial number. Pre-War German proofs on the barrel, bolt, and receiver, and "Mod W 625C" marked on the crest followed by "BSW / Suhl". Nice SA stamp on the stock, reading "GRUPPE KURPFALZ" in a a circle on the right side of the stock. Rifle is matching on the receiver and bolt. Round steel barrel with blade front sight, and rear sight adjustable to 200 meters. Metal sling stud present on the right side of the stock. This example has retained about 92% of its original finish, with minor thinning and mild oxidation on the receiver, trigger guard, and barrel bands. Wood furniture is in great overall condition, with a few dings and handling marks here and there, but no signs of repair or major damage. Bore is stone mint. Includes original sling, which is worn from age and should be handled delicately to avoid tearing. Also comes with the book "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany," where it is featured on page 425. It is also featured in Speeds book on page 216.
