Description
6/27/24 - This is a very nice example of a Walther PPK, manufactured in 1942. It is all matching with post-factory SS runes on the left side of the frame and an "SD 3" marking on the front strap. The SD (Sicherheitsdienst) was a Nazi Party intelligence service. It was part of the SS (Schutzstaffel, Protection Squadron), an elite Nazi Party paramilitary organization that was under Heinrich HimmlerÄôs control. Over the course of the Nazi era, the SD took on an increasingly prominent role in Nazi anti-Jewish policies. Most infamously, the SD was a key component of the Einsatzgruppen. Since these markings were applied post-factory, there's no way for us to know when they were applied - they could be from the period or done later. In any case, the gun has retained about 93% of its original finish with general high edge wear and areas of minor thinning on the front strap and left side of the slide. Fitted with a black grip and comes with a period-correct finger extension magazine. Minty bore.Specifications
