Description
6/26/24 - This is a rare and desirable Baby Luger as produced by the renowned John Martz. John Martz became a world famous custom pistol maker in the mid-70s, when he invented MSTR - a Martz Safe Toggle Release modification for a Luger pistol. Since then he made many variations of custom luger pistols in various calibers and configurations, until his passing a few years ago. These guns are not simply short-barrel examples of Lugers, but rather the entire pistol is smaller than standard dimension. It requires two frames, a custom barrel and custom grips. Frames were welded together and then shortened by about a half inch. This pistol is an interesting one as it was not blued, whether unfinished or stainless we aren't sure. It could be that it was left over at the time of his death as there are various issues of freckling/spotting that account for the wear. The pistol is otherwise beautiful with perfect grips. Bore is minty as it unsurprisingly wasn't fired much. Martz's initials are marked inside the frame. It's also marked with a '22' in an oval, which was likely the production number.Specifications
