Description
8/1/24 - This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1911A1 issued to the US military in 1943. It is all correct, has a proper Colt barrel with a small "F" under the lug, and the slide is numbered and matching. It comes as a rig with one proper magazine and a minty period-correct tan leather shoulder holster. It also comes with a Colt Factory Letter, stating this gun was shipped to a US Government Transportation Officer at the Springfield Armory on February 18, 1943. It says it was to be delivered to a Commanding Officer. It also comes with an "Appraisal and Safety Certification" Certificate from Drake Fine Sporting Arms. The gun itself has retained about 94% of its original parkerized finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the front strap, but there is also minor general high edge wear. Fitted with period-correct reddish plastic grips. Excellent bore with great rifling.Specifications
