Description
8/6/24 - This is a Mauser C96 originally sold in the commercial market in 1910. All matching and "Double Crown U" proofed. This gun was likely re-purposed for use by the German military during WW2, as evidenced by some of the custom markings on the gun. There are custom stamped markings throughout that read "BENNIE HOLBROOK", "AFRICA", "MAY 15 1943". This is likely the name of the soldier who captured it during WW2, along with the date and location of where it was captured. The gun's original finish rates roughly 65% with obvious finish loss and spotty oxidation throughout. Fitted with matching-numbered wood grips. Near-mint bore. It comes with a reproduction wood stock - a couple of cracks along the top edge.Specifications
